The Playground

So, last night we had another meeting for coming three events and this time I jumped ahead of the others and picked the place. It's a place I eyed a month ago and had read about a couple of times.

Frankly, I haven't had a striking dish lately. Don't take me wrong, I have had delicious meals but nothing beyond imagination that makes me wanna beg to come back. I'm searching for a dish that sorta gives me a punch. Perhaps, a five Michelin dish? :p

We went to The Playground at 4th floor of Plaza Indonesia extension which, according to some recommendations, serves good food. There were 12 of us so we really tasted the whole page of the menu. Except for the four-legged section.

I ordered Queyaki Chicken which is basically a grilled chicken breast served with bbq sauce and potato croquette. The serving size is okay, but it just tastes so-so. People around me ordered Fish n chips, which is very nice -yeah a restaurant of that calibre must at least serve good fish n chips, spagheti cooked in Japanese taste with lots of chili flake (this is also so-so), and a kind of spagheti bed topped with chicken katsu. Then, there's another portion of chicken breast with pesto. Being a big fan of pesto, I automatically tried it right from my friend's plate. The pesto was mixed with yoghurt which, in my opinion, leaves a sweet after taste. Not something I fancy. I prefer the classic pesto with lots and lots of basil leaves. Two of us ordered fried Dory fish wish some kind of tangy and super-hot-with-fresh-chili sauce, and another ordered chili dog.

Apparently, I would like to differ from many other people out there who have praised this restaurant. It is a good place with good vibe to hang out, but if you're looking for foods that'll make you feel that it's worth going through the nerve-wrecking and V-power-fuel consuming traffic just to eat there, it's not the place
